Under-the-Sea Intakes

Low turbid water for industrial processes that does not interfere with the marine environment

Leave the fish in the sea™

Proven Design Yields
extremely low turbid water as source water

The company utilizes horizontal directional drilling techniques from shore
and proprietary methods to insert micro-porous intakes below the seafloor.

The natural filtering leads to lower operation and maintenance costs
as well as a smaller footprint and energy consumption.

Guaranteed for 50+ years service life and
Seismic Resistance

No Shoreline Disturbance

Trenchless techniques are bored from the shore
by means of HDD, damaging neither the seabed nor the surrounding flora and fauna.

Natural Infiltration

Lateral drains supply high-quality seawater as source water infiltrates through the seafloor before reaching the desalination facility.

Continuous High Quality Raw Water

Under-the-sea intakes provide a continuous flow of raw seawater, since drains are installed laterally into the offshore aquifer.

No Impingement nor Entrainment

A microporous non-corrosive pipe is inserted
20 feet  (7 m) below the seafloor.   Each HDD drain yields between 1 to 2 MGD of source water without fish larvae, floating hydrocarbons, harmful red tide algal blooms.  No contribution of the salt water intruding into the inland aquifer.
